How to Use Ceramides for Dry Skin
Layer ceramide products from thinnest to thickest consistency on damp skin to rebuild your moisture barrier.
Ceramides are maintenance, not magic - think of them as rebuilding the walls of your house, not just painting over cracks.
- Start with clean, damp skin. Cleanse with a gentle, non-stripping cleanser and pat skin until it's damp, not bone dry. The slight moisture helps ceramides penetrate better and creates a foundation for layering.
- Apply ceramide serum first. Use 2-3 drops of ceramide serum on your face and neck while skin is still damp. Ceramide serums have smaller molecules that can penetrate deeper when applied to slightly wet skin.
- Follow with ceramide moisturizer. Apply your ceramide-rich moisturizer while the serum is still tacky. This creates layers of barrier repair that work together to lock in hydration and prevent water loss.
- Use morning and night consistently. Ceramides work best with consistent use since they're rebuilding your skin's natural barrier over time. Apply morning and evening for at least 4-6 weeks to see real improvement in dryness.
