How to Use Chamomile Extract for Calming Skin

Apply chamomile extract in toners, serums, or DIY compresses to soothe irritated skin with its anti-inflammatory properties.

  1. Choose your chamomile form. Look for products with chamomile extract, chamomile water, or bisabolol (the active compound). Pure chamomile essential oil is too concentrated for direct skin application and needs dilution.
  2. Start with clean skin. Apply chamomile products to freshly cleansed skin when pores are most receptive. Pat skin dry but leave slightly damp to help the extract absorb better.
  3. Apply with gentle pressure. Press chamomile toner or serum into skin with fingertips or a soft cotton pad. Avoid rubbing or dragging motions that could further irritate sensitive areas.
  4. Layer under moisturizer. Follow with your regular moisturizer to seal in the chamomile benefits. The extract works best when trapped against skin rather than evaporating into air.
