How to Use Green Tea for Your Skin

Green tea works as a gentle toner, compress, or face mist thanks to its antioxidants and mild anti-inflammatory properties.

Green tea is the kind of ingredient that sounds more exotic than it is, but sometimes the simplest solutions actually work.

  1. Brew your base. Steep 2 green tea bags in 1 cup hot water for 3-5 minutes, then cool completely. This creates your working liquid that keeps in the fridge for up to a week.
  2. Apply as toner. Soak a cotton pad with cooled green tea and sweep across clean skin before moisturizer. The antioxidants settle in while you move through your routine.
  3. Use as compress. Press cooled, damp tea bags directly onto puffy or tired areas for 10 minutes. The caffeine helps with temporary puffiness while the coolness feels immediately soothing.
  4. Make a mist. Transfer cooled tea to a spray bottle and mist over makeup or throughout the day. It adds a subtle refresh without disrupting whatever you have on.
