How to Use Lactobionic Acid for Sensitive Skin
Start with a low concentration serum twice weekly in the evening, followed immediately by moisturizer to buffer the gentle exfoliation.
- Start low and slow. Choose a lactobionic acid product with 1-2% concentration. Apply it to clean, dry skin twice per week in the evening only. Your skin needs time to adjust to any acid, even the gentlest ones.
- Layer properly. Apply lactobionic acid serum to bare skin, wait 2-3 minutes for absorption, then follow with your regular moisturizer. The moisturizer acts as a buffer and prevents any potential irritation while the acid works.
- Build tolerance gradually. After two weeks of twice-weekly use with no irritation, increase to every other night. Never use lactobionic acid on the same night as retinoids, vitamin C, or other exfoliating acids.
