How to Use Rice Flour as a Gentle Exfoliant
Mix rice flour with water or oil to create a paste, massage gently in circular motions, then rinse for smooth, polished skin.
- Choose your rice flour. Use finely ground rice flour, not coarse varieties that could scratch delicate facial skin. Regular white rice flour works perfectly for most skin types.
- Create the paste. Mix one tablespoon rice flour with enough water, milk, or oil to form a spreadable paste. The consistency should be like thick yogurt, not runny or too stiff.
- Apply and massage. Spread the paste on damp, clean skin using gentle upward circular motions. Focus on rough areas like elbows, knees, or anywhere you want smoother texture.
- Rinse thoroughly. Remove with lukewarm water, making sure no grains remain on your skin. Pat dry and follow with your usual moisturizer while skin is still slightly damp.
