How to Use Rosehip Oil for Skin

Apply rosehip oil to clean, slightly damp skin at night, starting with 2-3 drops and building up to daily use.

Rosehip oil is the thinking person's face oil—it does the work without announcing itself, unlike those heavy oils that leave you looking like you dunked your face in a fryer.

  1. Start with clean skin. Cleanse your face with your usual routine and pat almost dry, leaving skin slightly damp. The moisture helps the oil absorb better and prevents that greasy feeling.
  2. Warm the oil. Dispense 2-3 drops into your palm and press your hands together to warm it. Cold oil sits on top of skin instead of sinking in.
  3. Press, don't rub. Gently press the oil into your skin using upward motions, focusing on dry areas and avoiding the immediate eye area. Let it absorb for a minute before applying anything else.
  4. Layer strategically. If using other products, apply rosehip oil before heavier creams but after water-based serums. Think thinnest to thickest consistency.
