How to Use Squalane Oil for Skin

Apply 2-3 drops to damp skin after water-based serums but before heavier moisturizers, morning and night.

It's the most boring oil that actually works, which makes it the most useful oil you can own.

  1. Start with clean, damp skin. Cleanse normally and apply any water-based serums first. Leave skin slightly damp — squalane locks in that moisture better than applying to completely dry skin.
  2. Warm 2-3 drops between palms. Use your body heat to make the oil more fluid. This prevents dragging and helps it absorb faster instead of sitting on top of skin.
  3. Press into skin, don't rub. Gently press palms against face and neck, then use fingertips to pat into areas that need extra attention. Rubbing can move the oil around instead of helping it penetrate.
  4. Layer correctly in your routine. Follow with heavier creams if using at night, or apply SPF if it's morning. Squalane plays well with everything and won't interfere with other products.
