How to prep skin before a big shoot

Start 48 hours before with gentle exfoliation, hydration, and absolutely no new products.

  1. 48 hours before: gentle reset. Use a mild exfoliant to remove dead skin cells without irritation. Skip actives like retinol or acids. This gives skin time to recover and creates a smooth base.
  2. 24 hours before: hydrate deeply. Apply a hydrating mask or extra moisturizer. Well-hydrated skin reflects light better and holds makeup longer. Drink water but don't expect overnight miracles.
  3. Day of: minimal and strategic. Cleanse gently, apply lightweight moisturizer with SPF if shooting outdoors. Use a hydrating primer to create the perfect makeup base. Keep it simple.
