Night Before Skin Prep
Gentle cleanse, light exfoliation if needed, hydrating serum, and a good moisturizer will have your skin event-ready by morning.
- Double cleanse properly. Remove makeup with an oil cleanser, then follow with your regular cleanser. This ensures zero residue that could cause morning breakouts or interfere with makeup application.
- Exfoliate strategically. Only use a gentle chemical exfoliant if your skin tolerates it well and you've used it before. Skip physical scrubs entirely—they can cause micro-tears that show up as irritation under makeup.
- Layer hydration. Apply a hydrating serum with hyaluronic acid or glycerin, then seal with your regular moisturizer. Well-hydrated skin holds makeup better and looks naturally plump.
- Sleep on clean pillowcases. Fresh pillowcases prevent transferring oils and bacteria back to your prepped skin. Consider silk or satin to minimize friction that can cause creasing.
