Cleanse, moisturize, protect — everything else is optional.

  1. Cleanse without stripping. Use a gentle cleanser that removes dirt without making your skin feel tight. Oil cleansers work for everyone, even oily skin. Massage for thirty seconds, rinse with lukewarm water.
  2. Moisturize while damp. Apply moisturizer to slightly damp skin to lock in hydration. Choose a formula that feels comfortable — lightweight gel for oily skin, richer cream for dry. Your skin should feel soft, not greasy or tight.
  3. Protect during the day. Morning only: apply SPF 30 or higher as your final step. Reapply every two hours if you're outside. Skip this step at night and let your skin repair itself.
