Post-Workout Skincare That Actually Works

Cool down first, rinse with lukewarm water, then apply a lightweight moisturizer to damp skin.

  1. Wait five minutes. Let your body temperature normalize before touching your face. Hot skin plus products equals irritation and clogged pores.
  2. Rinse, don't cleanse. Splash with lukewarm water to remove surface sweat and salt. Skip harsh cleansers that will strip your already-stressed skin barrier.
  3. Pat dry gently. Use a clean towel and press, don't rub. Your skin is more sensitive post-exercise and friction creates micro-tears.
  4. Moisturize immediately. Apply a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizer while skin is still slightly damp. This locks in hydration without feeling heavy on heated skin.
