Your Skin After Baby: A Simple Reset Routine

Strip your routine down to gentle cleanser, fragrance-free moisturizer, and SPF—your skin needs recovery time, not active ingredients.

  1. Morning cleanse. Use a cream or oil cleanser that won't strip your skin. Your hormones are already doing enough disruption—gentle removal of overnight buildup is all you need. Pat dry, don't rub.
  2. Lock in moisture. Apply a fragrance-free moisturizer to damp skin. Your skin barrier is compromised right now, so think repair over transformation. Ceramides and hyaluronic acid are your friends.
  3. Sun protection. SPF 30 minimum, every day. Pregnancy hormones can trigger melasma that lingers postpartum, and sleep deprivation makes your skin more vulnerable to damage.
  4. Evening reset. Double cleanse if you wore makeup or sunscreen. Follow with the same moisturizer from morning. Skip actives like retinoids or acids for now—your skin needs stability.
