How to Do a Pre-Event Glow Routine
Start three days before with gentle exfoliation, then layer hydrating products and finish with luminous makeup for effortless radiance.
Most people try to create glow in one day and end up looking greasy instead of luminous—preparation is everything.
- Three days before: Reset your canvas. Use a gentle chemical exfoliant like lactic acid to remove dead skin cells. Skip harsh scrubs that can cause irritation right before your event. Follow with a hydrating serum and your regular moisturizer.
- Two days before: Deep hydration. Apply a hydrating mask for 15 minutes, then layer a hyaluronic acid serum under your moisturizer. Your skin needs time to plump up properly, so this step cannot be rushed.
- Day before: Lock in moisture. Use a gentle cleanser, apply your serum, then a slightly richer moisturizer than usual. Go to bed early and drink water throughout the day.
- Event day morning: Prep for makeup. Cleanse gently, apply a lightweight moisturizer with SPF, and let it absorb for 10 minutes. Pat any excess with a tissue before applying makeup.
- Create luminous makeup. Mix a drop of facial oil with your foundation for natural glow. Apply cream highlighter to cheekbones, nose bridge, and cupid's bow before setting with powder only where needed.
