How to Do Facial Cupping at Home

Use soft silicone cups with light suction, moving them continuously across clean skin with facial oil to boost circulation without leaving marks.

Facial cupping works, but most people overdo it trying to recreate spa intensity at home—less pressure, more movement gets better results without the drama.

  1. Prep your skin. Cleanse thoroughly and apply a generous layer of facial oil or serum. The slip is essential—dry cupping will drag and irritate. Start with room temperature cups.
  2. Create gentle suction. Squeeze the silicone cup lightly and place it on your skin, releasing slowly until you feel mild suction. It should feel like a gentle pull, not painful vacuum pressure.
  3. Move continuously. Glide cups in upward strokes from jawline to temples, never leaving them stationary. Work in sections—cheeks, forehead, around eyes with smaller cups—for 2-3 minutes total.
  4. Finish properly. Remove cups by pressing the base to release suction, never pulling them off. Pat remaining oil into skin and follow with your usual moisturizer.
