How to Layer Moisture Like a Pro
Apply products from thinnest to thickest consistency, sealing damp skin with each layer to lock in maximum hydration.
- Start with damp skin. Cleanse and leave skin slightly wet, or mist with thermal water. Moisture sticks better to moisture, creating the foundation for your layering system.
- Apply your lightest layer first. Use a hydrating toner or essence while skin is still damp. Press into skin with palms, don't rub. This creates your first moisture barrier.
- Add your treatment serum. Apply hyaluronic acid or your chosen serum to the damp surface. The water underneath helps the serum spread and penetrate more effectively.
- Lock it down with moisturizer. Apply your cream or lotion while the serum is still slightly wet. This seals everything underneath and prevents water loss from the surface.
- Seal with an occlusive. For extra dry skin, add a thin layer of facial oil or balm as the final step. This creates an impermeable barrier that traps all the moisture layers beneath.
