How to Keep Your Skin Clear and Protected All Summer
Summer skincare is about lighter textures, higher SPF, and consistent hydration without overwhelming your skin.
Summer skincare is not about adding more products. It's about choosing the right textures so your skin can breathe while staying protected.
- Switch to a gentle gel cleanser. Your winter cream cleanser will feel too heavy when humidity hits. A gel or foam cleanser removes sweat and sunscreen without stripping your skin. Cleanse twice daily, but don't over-wash even when you feel oily.
- Layer SPF 30 or higher every morning. Apply sunscreen as your final skincare step, 15 minutes before going outside. Use enough to cover your face and neck completely. Reapply every two hours if you're outdoors or sweating.
- Hydrate with a lightweight moisturizer. Heavy creams will make you feel greasy in heat. Choose a gel-based or water-based moisturizer that absorbs quickly. Your skin still needs moisture even when it feels oily from humidity.
- Add a weekly gentle exfoliant. Dead skin and sunscreen buildup can clog pores in summer heat. Use a mild exfoliant once or twice a week to keep skin clear. Skip harsh scrubs that will irritate sun-sensitive skin.
