How to Remove Waterproof Makeup Without Destroying Your Face
Oil-based cleansers dissolve waterproof formulas without scrubbing—let the chemistry do the work.
Stop fighting your makeup like it owes you money—waterproof formulas surrender to the right chemistry, not brute force.
- Start with dry hands and face. Water repels oil-based makeup removers and makes them less effective. Apply your oil cleanser or makeup remover to completely dry skin with dry hands for maximum dissolving power.
- Press and hold for 30 seconds. Saturate a cotton pad with oil-based remover and press it against closed eyes or lips for 30 seconds. This gives the oils time to break down the waterproof polymers without any rubbing or tugging.
- Gently wipe in one direction. After the product has done its work, wipe gently from inner to outer corner in smooth motions. Avoid circular rubbing which can irritate the delicate eye area and push makeup into fine lines.
- Follow with your regular cleanser. Remove any remaining oil residue with your usual face wash. This double cleansing ensures all traces of makeup and remover are gone without leaving a greasy film.
