How to Use a Face Steamer at Home
Steam clean skin for 5-10 minutes, then follow immediately with your usual skincare routine while pores are open.
Steaming is the skincare equivalent of opening windows in a stuffy room. Simple, effective, impossible to mess up if you keep it brief.
- Set up properly. Fill the steamer with distilled water and position it 6-8 inches from your face. Clean skin first but skip any active ingredients like retinol or acids before steaming.
- Steam for the right duration. Keep sessions between 5-10 minutes maximum. Your skin should feel warm and slightly flushed, not red or irritated.
- Follow up immediately. Pat skin dry gently and apply your serums and moisturizer while skin is still slightly damp. This locks in the hydration and maximizes absorption.
