How to Use a Facial Cleansing Brush Without Overdoing It
Use gentle circular motions for 30-60 seconds with a damp brush and your regular cleanser, then follow with moisturizer.
Most people use these like they're scrubbing a pan—your face isn't that dirty.
- Prep your skin and brush. Dampen your face with lukewarm water and wet the brush head. Apply your usual cleanser to either your face or the brush bristles. Cold water tightens pores and hot water strips natural oils.
- Work in sections. Start with your forehead, moving the brush in small circles for 10-15 seconds. Move to cheeks, nose, and chin, spending equal time on each area. Let the brush do the work—no pressure needed.
- Rinse and follow through. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, then pat dry. Apply moisturizer immediately while skin is still slightly damp. Clean your brush head with soap and let it air dry completely.
